We don't know what The Enigma Box really is, but kinda want one

This would normally be where I write a pithy couple of sentences about NewThing(tm) that sums up what it is, and why we think NewThing(tm) is cool. But, uh…

Look, I have no idea how to do that with The Enigma Box. Which, I guess, is kinda fitting.

The Enigma box is… a thing that recently launched on Kickstarter. At it’s simplest, it is a puzzle, to be solved alone, or with friends, but there’s also nothing simple about it. It combines a boardgame, augmented reality, virtual reality, card-based clues, strange, hidden tools, combined with 3D printing, graphene keys, NFC chips and… Look, here’s what the guys making it have to say:

This challenge is for adventurers, gamers, mystery seekers, puzzle-solvers and the curious minded who want to immerse themselves in the biggest collection of enigmas ever. Not really helping, is it. Like the matrix, I suspect this is something you can really only get once you have one in front of you, and by then you’ll be sucked into an apparent ‘6000 minutes’ of puzzles, all aiming to unlock the Arcanum Arcanorum. 

The Enigma Box might also be based on a real, historical puzzle, too, but I legit cannot tell if that’s hype or not.
